City Transit Project

Overview

Public Transit was ranked lowest of the 18 community services. It received an average score closer to somewhat dissatisfied than somewhat satisfied. Over a third of the firms were either very or somewhat dissatisfied with the current service. The present public transit service is limited to one bus that has no scheduled route service.

The short-term goal of the City Transit project committee was to conduct an analysis of transit needs within the city of Swift Current.

The long-term goals are:

• Address and implement the findings of the analysis.

The expected outcomes of this project are:

• An economical and effective transit system in the city of Swift Current.

Progress To Date

The committee has surveyed the community to assess the need for and the interest in an improved city transit system. The following are the results of the survey.
